Open C³S (Open Competence Center for Cyber Security) is the largest education and training initiative for the area of cybersecurity in the German-speaking world.
Nine institutes of technology and universities throughout Germany have set the goal of developing online degree programs related to cybersecurity. This concept aims to enable students who are also working professionals to acquire the highest level of scientific qualifications and obtain an academic degree.
Students have the opportunity to introduce skills that they have gained through their professions.
The designation “open” also signifies an openness to accessing academic training for those who do not have the classic admission allowance to attend colleges or universities.
Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is one of the nine institutions of higher education in Germany involved in this education and training initiative and is participating in the following three subprojects at Open C³S:
- TP1: Studium Initiale: Preparatory course for IT practitioners
- TP3: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT Security
- TP5: Master’s degree in IT Governance, Risk and Compliance Management
