ATHENE at GPEC digital 2025

The General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference, or GPEC® digital for short, is one of Germany’s leading events where public authorities can find out about digital technologies and solutions for internal security, law enforcement and homeland security - as well as training and professional development. At this year’s GPEC® digital in Hall CCL, ATHENE will be presenting the wide range of training courses offered by Fraunhofer SIT - covering topics such as IT forensics, video analysis, artificial intelligence and cyber defence - at the Fraunhofer joint stand, Stand No. 079, Level 0.

Hannover Messe 2025

The Hannover Messe is the world’s largest and most important industrial trade fair and is regarded as the leading inter­national trade fair for industrial technology. It covers various sectors such as automation, digitalisation, energy technologies and industrial production, and regularly attracts thousands of exhibitors and trade visitors from all over the world. ATHENE researchers will be giving talks on their research at this year’s Hannover Messe.

T.I.S.P. Seminar in Darmstadt

Information security is becoming more and more important: in order to protect electronic business processes, companies are increasingly looking for qualified employees who can prove that they are equal to the complex challenges of IT security. The TeleTrusT Information Security Professional (T.I.S.P.) is the only effective proof of this kind in Europe. ATHENE member Fraunhofer SIT offers seminars to prepare for the exam.

CAST Workshop: Recht und IT-Sicherheit: Digitale Souveränität - Eine Forderung von Da­ten­schutz und Datensicherheit?

This CAST workshop deals with the practical challenges of applying the KI-Verordnung (KIVO) and Da­ten­schutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO) in a corporate context. The focus will be on the specific requirements for the admissibility of AI systems under data protection law, in particular Large Language Models (LLM), as well as the complex interplay between the two regulations. ATHENE researcher Dr. Oren Halvani will give a presentation on "Security requirements and possibilities in dealing with AI systems".

CAST: ID:Smart Workshop

ID:SMART Workshop is an annual face-to-face conference that fosters networking and technical updates within the European community of electronic identities, wallets, smart cards and hardware security modules (HSMs). Contributions shall address innovations, regulations, standards, certifications or implementations regarding electronic identities for connected devices and individuals, focusing on application-related or foundational topics and research.

CyberUp: Cyber­security Awareness

In this lunch lecture, organised as part of the EDITH initiative, experts will explore the fundamentals of compliance with data protection law for SMEs and outline best practices for adhering to data protection regulations. This time, the focus is on cybersecurity awareness. Anyone interested is warmly invited to attend!

Sebastian T. Baum, Sachgebiet 5, Hattersheim, is speaking today about "Krisenkommunikation". The series of events will focus on various critical infrastructures and their security challenges. For this purpose, speakers from research institutions, companies, authorities or operators of critical infrastructures have been invited to illuminate individual facets of the topic with an expert lecture. The "Secure Critical Infrastructures" lecture series, which is being offered for the 10th time at TU Darmstadt, is organized by ATHENE scientists Prof. Matthias Hollick and Prof. Christian Reuter as well as Prof. Jens Ivo Engels.
