Computer Scientist Eric Bodden is the Heinz Maier Leibnitz Laureate 2014

Fraunhofer researcher and Professor at the Technische Universität Darmstadt receives the most prestigious German sponsorship award for young scientists

Deutsche Forschungs­gemeinschaft (DFG) is awarding the Heinz Maier Leibnitz Prize 2014 to Professor Dr. Eric Bodden (33). DFG is honoring the computer scientist?s exceptional scientific achievements in the secure software development field. 

In close cooperation with Fraunhofer, Bodden has held a chair at the TU Darmstadt?s Computer Science Department since the summer of 2013.  At the same time he is also heading the ?Secure Software Engineering? department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology. Bodden?s research group is part of the two inter­national Darmstadt cyber security centers, the European Center for Security and Privacy by Design (EC SPRIDE)  funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, and the Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED) funded by the State of Hesse. Prior to this, Bodden has received several inter­national awards and sponsorship prizes already for his work; he is responsible, among others, for one of DFG?s Emmy Noether groups.
