Intel has decided to extend cooperation by two years to 2017

Intel Labs and TU Darmstadt will continue their successful research collaboration on Mobile and Embedded Security. This has been decided after a challenging competition between four Intel Collaborative Research Institutes (ICRI) based on the initial research results.

The German-Finnish ICRI for Secure Computing advertised its research in over 30 top-tier conferences that covers areas like:

  • Runtime Attacks and Defenses
  • Trustworthy Embedded and Mobile Systems
  • Novel User Security Experiences
  • Scalable Security Protocols for Billions of Devices

The ICRI-SC is the first Intel Collaborative Security Research institute outside of the United States, and was established 2012 by Technische Universität Darmstadt and Intel Labs. 2013 the institute was expanded to Finland by adding the University of Helsinki under the chair of Prof. Dr. N. Asokan. In 2014, Aaalto University also joined the institute. The institute is part of Intel?s new research strategy as of today: A worldwide network of academic research cooperations, the Intel Collaborative Research Institutes (ICRI). They will bring together experts from academia and industry to help explore and invent in the next generation of technologies that could impact the lives of many in the future.
