The position paper Cyber­security is meant, which the Bun­des­bil­dungs­mi­ni­ster­in Prof. Johanna Wanka presented on the occaison of the National Conference for IT Security research in Berlin in mid-feburary. In this paper the Scientists describe the most importat challenges and make concrete recommendations, for solving these challenges. For example, the experts recommend the strategic improvement of the digital souvereignity in Germany and Europe, the selective support of the cybersecurity infrastructure and the improvement of the researchframework by means of research competitiom and structures for a rapid reaction of the needs of research.
