Best Paper Award for the research group of Prof. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi
The paper HAFIX: Hardware-Assisted Flow Integrity Extension by Orlando Arias, Lucas Davi, Matthias Hanreich, Yier Jin, Patrick Koeberl, Debayan Paul, Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi and Dean Sullivan received a Best Paper Award at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) 2015. Prof. Dr. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi, head of the System Security Lab, said: "This is a big honor for us and our collaborators and shows that our research is competitive at international level. Further, it was highly visible at DAC how the security topic has emerged and how important it has become."

NoPhish ? Internet fraud easily learn to recognize
The educational game App "NoPhish" is now available in the Google PlayStore (for German users). It enables users to increase their awareness and competence with respect to Internet phishing attacks in a playful and interactive way. In different game levels users learn how to properly parse a URL and detect phishing attacks, while the exercises give direct and positive feedback.

App Data Vulnerability Threatens Millions of Users
Technische Universität Darmstadt and Fraunhofer SIT have investigated cloud databases like Facebook?s Parse and Amazon's AWS and found 56 million sets of unprotected data. The researchers found email addresses, passwords, health records and other sensitive information of app users, which may be easily stolen and often manipulated. App developers use cloud databases to store user data but apparently ignore the security recommendation given by the Cloud providers.
