USENIX Security 2018

The paper  "Freezing the Web: A Study of ReDoS Vulnerabilities in JavaScript-based Web Servers" from Prof. Michel Pradel and Cristian-Alexandru Staicu, both CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, was accepted at the USENIX Security Symposium. The paper deals with the reveal of ReDoS weak spots in JavaScript software-modules. These make it possible that a website can freeze with a single inquiry, so that other users would not be able to access the server the website is connected with.

The workshop is hosted by the expert group „Human-Machine Interaction in Security-Critical Systems“ of the department for Human-Computer-Interaction (MCI), Society of Informatics (GI).
