Biography

Since December 2024, Ralf Stettner has been Head of the Information and Cyber Security, Digitalisation Department at the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, Security and Homeland Protection, serving as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Hessian state administration. From February to November 2024, he served as Chief Information Officer and Representative of the State Government for E-Government and Information Technology, as well as Head of the Department of Administrative Digitisation. From 2018 to 2024, he headed the Department of Cyber and IT Security and Administrative Digitisation and also assumed the role of CISO. He began his career in the Hessian administration in 2005 in the European Affairs Department of the State Chancellery, having gained political experience at the CDU federal office and as a research assistant in the Bundestag. He studied History, Eastern European History and Philosophy in Bonn and Leipzig, and is a Colonel in the Reserves.
