Since December 2024, Ralf Stettner has been Head of the Department of Information and Cyber Security, Digitalisation at the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, Security and Homeland Protection, and serves as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Hessian state administration. From February to November 2024, he served as Chief Information Officer and Representative of the State Government for E-Government and Information Technology, as well as Head of the Department of Administrative Digitisation.
From 2018 to 2024, he headed the Department of Cyber and IT Security and Administrative Digitisation and also assumed the role of CISO.
He began his career in the Hessian administration in 2001 as Head of the Ministerial Office to the Head of the State Chancellery and the Minister for Federal and European Affairs at the Hessian State Chancellery in Wiesbaden. Since 2003, he has also been Head of the Minister for Federal and European Affairs and Representative in Berlin at the Hessian State Representation in Berlin. Prior to this, he gained political experience at the CDU federal office and as a research assistant in the Bundestag.
He studied History, Eastern European History and Philosophy in Bonn and Leipzig, and is a Colonel in the Reserve and a former Konrad Adenauer Foundation scholarship holder.
