Analytics Based Cybersecurity (ABC)

Analysis of core Internet security protocols

The internet is the largest and most complex communications network and as such the biggest IT infrastructure worldwide. It is used equally by private citizens, businesses and public authorities. The cybersecurity and robustness of the various basic protocols and infrastructures of the internet are therefore essential for the successful digitalization of our society and economy. ATHENE analyzes core internet protocols for vulnerabilities that can be exploited, for example, to redirect data packets or to mislead about the ownership of domains. The results of those investigations help to gain insights into new attack methods and to develop new mechanisms for the defense against cyber-attacks.
