Dahl-Nygaard Senior Prize for ATHENE researcher
Prof. Mira Mezini, representative of TU Darmstadt on the ATHENE Board, has been awarded the prestigious Dahl-Nygaard Senior Prize 2025 for her pioneering contributions to software engineering. The Dahl-Nygaard Prize has been awarded by the Association Internationale pour les Technologies Objets (AITO) since 2004 and is one of the most important awards in the field of object-oriented software engineering. The award ceremony will take place during the European Conference on Object Oriented Programming (ECOOP), European Conference on Object Oriented Programming (ECOOP), which will take place from 30 June to 4 July 2025.

Prof. Mira Mezini heads the Software Technology Group, at TU Darmstadt and represents TU Darmstadt on the ATHENE Board. Her research focuses on programming languages and software engineering, with a particular emphasis on the development of intelligent software systems. She was one of the first scientists to use machine learning for automatic code completion, opening up new avenues in software development.
Her research has repeatedly been recognized with prestigious and highly endowed awards. Just a few months ago, she was inducted as an ACM Fellow, making her one of 55 eminent scientists from around the world to be named ACM Fellows in 2024 by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
