Hessia plans "Local Service Center Cybersecurity"
The Hessian ministry of Interior plans to intensify their support for research in the field of Cybersecurity. With Prof. Michael Waidner (Fraunhofer SIT), Prof. Dieter Fellner (Fraunhofer IGD), Prof. Peter Buxmann (CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt) and Prof. Michael Massoth (University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt) there are IT security experts from all four CRISP partners in their function as consultants for the Hessian state government.

Hessian wide event for „Praktische Tipps zum Schutz im Internet“.
For the event Safer Internet Days 2017 the science group of the TU Darmstadt SECUSO is holding a Hessian wide event in cooperation with the Hessian Police with the theme „Praktische Tipps zum Schutz im Internet". In addition to the openig event in Wiesbaden, many events will be taking place at several Hessian locations and will be throughout the day, for the duration of three and a half hours.

The Weekly Number of the BMBF
Every week the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) presents a number. This week it is the number Zahl 92, which means that 92 Prozent of the internets´infrastructure is vulnerable.
The CRISP Research project „Sichere Internet-Infrastrukturen“ comes to this conclusion. In this flagship project new mechanisms are developed, in order to complicate eavesdropping by manipulating the„Domain Name System“ (DNS).

Dr. Michael Kreutzer, Fraunhofer SIT, takes part in the panel discussion on the occasion of the opening ceremonies of Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS)
With an inaugural conference the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) officially commenced their work on the third of Feburary. In the Bochumer Jahrhunderthalle 150 guests were invited, to celebrate the founding of CAIS and afterwards took part in an opening session.

Privacy Friendly Apps which have been developed by SECUSO, the research group headed by Prof. Melanie Volkamer, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, are the theme of the current citizen CERT-Newsletter "Sicher Informiert" des BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik).

Startup von CRISP-Partner CYSEC [at] Junior reasearcher from TU Darmstadt wins prize
For the development of quantumcomputer resistent security solutions Dr. Rachid El Bansarkhani, research associate from the field of cryptography and computer algebra at the Technische Universität in Darmstadt receives the the special prize of the TU Ideenwettbewerb in the category "Wissenschaftler, Absolventen und Mitarbeiter" . The startup "QuantiCor Security" wants to develop quantumcomputer resistent security solutions for the Internet of Things.
