Funkkolleg "Sicherheit"
In collaboration with the HR-iNFO, the Hessian Volkshochschulverband and the Hessian Ministry of Education, TU Darmstadt has developed the concept for this year's "Funkkolleg", which is a further education offer with changing topics of high social relevance. The Funkkolleg 2016/17 deals with the topic of "Security".
Safe and smart considering European standards
The "Sichere Email" project, jointly launched by CRISP partners Fraunhofer IGD, Technische Universität Darmstadt and University of Applied Sciences, is intended to improve the usability of biometric systems in general and, in particular, enable small and medium-sized enterprises to operate without the introduction of a complex and Expensive infrastructure.

Der diesjährige Europäische Monat der Cyber-Sicherheit neigt sich dem Ende zu.
Die von Prof. Melanie Volkamer, CRISP-Forscherin der TU Darmstadt, geleitete Forschungsgruppe SECUSO hat sich mit zwei Aktionen am ECSM beteiligt:
ein VHS-Kurs zum Thema Cybercrime in Kooperation mit dem Polizeipräsidium Südhessen sowie eine neu entwickelte Schulung zur Erkennung betrügerischer Nachrichten.
Young researcher wins Doctoral Dissertation Award
Dr. Lucas Davi, the Darmstadt IT security researcher, has been awarded for his outstanding doctoral thesis. He was awarded the "SIGSAC Doctoral Dissertation Award" at the world's largest academic conference on communication security and cybersecurity (CCS).
The award is associated with a prize money of 1,500 US dollars.
Steigendes Risiko durch plattformübergreifende Apps
Über 70 Prozent der Apps zur Verwaltung und Anzeige von Dokumenten sind für den Unternehmenseinsatz ungeeignet. Hybride Apps bringen zusätzlich Websicherheitsrisiken in die App-Welt. Viele Apps für Mobilgeräte haben schwerwiegende Sicherheitslücken, die Angreifer nutzen können, um in Unternehmen erhebliche Schäden zu verursachen.
Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt der neue Appicaptor-Security-Index des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Sichere Informationstechnologie.
