PROTECTIVE starts Test Operation
The European project PROTECTIVE (Proactive Risk Management through Improved Cyber Situational Awareness) initiated the test operation of a system that allows the automatic sharing of security information. On the part of the TU Darmstadt the CRISP-researcher Prof. Max Mühlhäuser takes part in PROTECTIVE with his research group. The researchers from Darmstadt bring their expertise in the field of Computational Trust Managements to judge and visualize the quality of the threat data.

Second Funding Phase for Crypthograpy- Special Research Area CROSSING granted
On May 17, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) granted the second funding phase for the special research area CROSSING, that exists at TU Darmstadt since 2014. From 2018 until 2022 CROSSING will be granted an additional 10 Million Euro.

BMBF-Innovation Forum "Civil Security" 2018

Deputy speaker of CRISP Prof. Michael Waidner is one of the keynote-speakers at the Digital Future Science Match 2018. The Digital Future Science Match is a international computer conference that takes place every spring in Berlin, in honor of the invention of the Z3 computer from Konrad Zuse in May 1941.

USENIX Security 2018
The paper "Freezing the Web: A Study of ReDoS Vulnerabilities in JavaScript-based Web Servers" from Prof. Michel Pradel and Cristian-Alexandru Staicu, both CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, was accepted at the USENIX Security Symposium. The paper deals with the reveal of ReDoS weak spots in JavaScript software-modules. These make it possible that a website can freeze with a single inquiry, so that other users would not be able to access the server the website is connected with.
