Prof. Mira Mezini confirmed in the DFG Senate
The General Assembly of the German Research Foundation (DFG) elected Prof. Mira Mezini to the Senate of Germany's largest research funding organization for a second term of office at the DFG Annual Meeting in Hamburg. As a representative of TU Darmstadt on the ATHENE Board, she strengthens the representation of cybersecurity research in the central body of scientific self-administration.
The DFG Senate acts as a strategic decision-making body for all key aspects of research funding in the run-up to the actual funding decision and plays a key role in shaping the framework conditions of the scientific review process. The re-election of Prof. Mezini underlines the importance of interdisciplinary cyber security research for the German research landscape and ensures the continuous integration of this key discipline into the strategic direction of the DFG. In addition to defining funding guidelines, the Senate is responsible for deciding on the formation and structuring of the review boards, which serve as the basis for the subject-specific review of research proposals. Prof. Mezini's expertise will therefore continue to contribute to scientific excellence and innovation in German research funding during the second term of office.
