Android developers mostly offer their apps for free in order to attract more users, but use advertisement to still be able to monetize their efforts. Most of them rely on libraries helping them to display different types of ads. However, with the last major update of its "Developer Program Policies", Google established stricter rules for the general usage of advertisement, e.g. that the user must always be able to recognize of which app a certain ad originates from. This naturally applies to most in-app ads like banners, although there are some types like pop-ups or shortcut icons that cannot that easily be associated with a corresponding app.

Unfortunately there are still apps in Google Play which integrate libraries that are not compliant to these changes. This, on the one hand, leaves the developer at a huge risk of his app being removed from Google Play, and on the other hand, leads to a very frustrating ad experience to the user. Another popular method among advertisement providers is the extraction of privacy sensitive user-data which happens without the user's knowledge.

In this work different approaches are being elaborated and discussed to mitigate or prevent these kinds of violations.
