CAST Workshop: AI and IT Security

July 03, 2025, 10:00 am – 05:00 pm

The rapid development in the field of artificial intelligence is leading to fundamental changes in the IT security landscape, with AI systems acting both as a shield against cyberattacks and as potential risk factors. Companies and organizations face the challenge of understanding this dual nature of AI technologies and integrating it into their security strategies in order to survive in the dynamic threat landscape.

The workshop highlights the complex interplay between AI and IT security. In their presentations, renowned experts from research and industry analyze the technical, legal, and ethical dimensions of this topic from various perspectives. They present the latest findings on AI-supported defense mechanisms and the growing challenges posed by AI-supported attack methods, and discuss practical solutions for implementing future-proof security concepts. In addition to the specialized lectures, the event will also offer interactive discussion rounds and networking opportunities to promote interdisciplinary exchange between security experts, decision-makers, and IT managers and to jointly develop strategies for balancing innovation and security.

The workshop will be moderated by ATHENE scientist Prof. Martin Steinebach.

The deadline for early bird registration is June 23, 2025; after that, the normal participation fee applies.
