Cybernation Deutschland: Roadmap to Internet Security
December 9th, 2025 | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. | Jügelhaus, Frankfurt, Germany
The Internet is the backbone of modern society. Our critical infrastructures, our societies, governments, industry, and research all depend on a stable and secure global network. Attacks on core Internet components can have nationwide and global consequences. Internet security is a central pillar of national and international security.
Against this backdrop, ATHENE invites you to the conference “Roadmap to Internet Security” on December 9 in Frankfurt. The event brings together key stakeholders, including operators, industry experts, researchers, and policymakers from Germany, Europe, the USA, and South Korea, to discuss security risks in global Internet infrastructures, international strategies for strengthening Internet resilience, and concrete steps toward a shared roadmap.
ATHENE is internationally recognized as a global leader in Internet infrastructure security research. Its scientists have discovered and registered dozens of high impact vulnerabilities (CVEs) that led to vendor patches, and their work on routing, naming systems, Internet protocols and platforms is cited worldwide. ATHENE’s research has shaped major strategic documents, including the Routing Security Roadmap (2024) of the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) at the US White House, the FCC report on secure Internet routing, and the latest draft of the NIST DNSSEC Deployment Guide, which includes detailed guidance on patching devastating KeyTrap attacks against DNSSEC, a vulnerability class discovered by ATHENE.
Our shared goal at this conference is to strengthen the foundations of a secure and resilient Internet – locally, nationally, and globally.
Conference language is English.
